Magnet and Electric Releases

One of the most effective ways of controlling access and doors in your building is through the use of electric/magnetic door releases. These essentially simple devices use magnetic switches to lock and unlock doors automatically or on demand. As well as the ability to keep doors locked and secure one of the benefits of electromagnetic door releases are they can be used to hold fire doors open in an emergency situation.

There is a wealth of different applications for electric door releases which include: standard mortice, electromagnetic door closers, surface mounted locks and many more. The two main types of electromagnetic locks to choose from are “fail safe electric locks” and “fail secure electric locks”. The difference between the two is this: fail safe require power to lock so these are often used for emergency doors as they automatically release if power is cut. Fail secure require power to unlock so they can only be opened if they are provided with continuous power.

The magnetic door releases can also be controlled in a variety of ways so whether linked directly with your fire alarm system or hooked up to an electronic keypad or swipe card system, you can control the access to your building and keep it secure and compliant with health and safety regulations.

We have a range of electric and magnetic door release products which we can supply, install and maintain for you. Some of the most popular manufacturers that we use include: Adams Rite, Briton Hardware, Dorma and Axim.

Access Control – Digital Keypads and Magnetic Door Locks

Access control is the most effective way of securing your building and preventing entry through particular doors. Access control systems can be operated by a number of devices to identify whether access is permitted or not to the user.

A digital keypad can be used as part of an access control system to manage the movement of people in, around and out of a building. These systems are usually used at the entrance to a property or restricted room. Using technology instead of keys or a receptionist, access control restricts access to certain areas and buildings.

Magnetic door locks are a simple access control device that works due a magnetic field. Magnetic door locks meet with both security and fire safety requirements and are ideal for use with emergency exit doors.

As one the UK’s leading suppliers of access control products, we can offer a wide range of digital keypads and magnetic door locks to meet customers’ needs and requirements. Using our extensive knowledge and experience of the industry means we can deliver an unrivalled service.
